Re-Creation

October/November 2022, My project at my artist residency in Assisi is the completion of a garment that is based on one that St Clare made in the 13th century, which resides as a relic in the Basilica di Santa Chiara. I spent well over a year hand-sewing this garment, using linen and hand work that had been passed down from my

family. I began this project when I was "cloistered" in my studio during the Covid pandemic.
