Pilgrim's Progress

October/November, 2022, I am in Assisi for a month long artist residency .The above title, “Pilgrim’s Progress,” is a reference to John Bunyan’s eponomous 17th Century book about "the good man’s pilgrimage through life.” Assisi is recognized not only as a sacred place, but also as the home of frescoes by world recognized artists Giotto, Cimabue and Simone Martini. Going to an artist residency here is a pilgrimage of sorts, that is, I made the journey to Assisi for both artistic and spiritual renewal.
