Cloistered

November 2021, This magnificent alb was made by the contemplative St Claire of Assisi in the 13th century. It is one of the few relics that remain from the life of St Francis and St Claire. I took this photograph when I was on retreat in Assisi in 2013, and it has since remained in my mind.

Having been cloistered by the pandemic in 2020/2021 and In anticipation of having my artist residency in Assisi in October 2022, I have been working on a years' long project related to this alb.
