Chiara and I and the alb

December 2021, in anticipation of my artist residency in Assisi, and in the midst of being cloistered in my studio in 2020 and 2021, I began to make a facsimile of the alb that was made by St Claire of Assisi in the

13th century. Requiring research, planning and contemplation, it is a years' long labor-intensive project. This is an early sample, made half-scale from muslim. Subsequently, I have been making the final garment, using antique linens and lace passed down to me from my family.
