Black Bird

After moving to Mexico part time, I found a black bird lying on a deserted sidewalk.  I was struck by my emotions of grief, and in honor of this solitary bird, I began to take photographs of her limp body.  From the emerging images, the bird seemed to appear as a messenger, with intimations that out of the darkness of her separation from the material world, her light from within endured.
